Ford partners with Microsoft to bring Sync to their new lines

The Ford Sync is a computer platform that contains three main applications.
1) Full voice control over media players.
2) Hands-Free calling from your bluetooth phone.
3) Text Message management when you receive it while driving.

In this new feature that some Ford vehicles are now featuring you may connect your bluetooth enabled phone to your car and it will automatically Sync an index of all your music files so that with the ease of just a voice command it automatically plays it. Simply say "Artist, Shaggy" or "Track, Angel" to start playing your favorite artist or track from your Zunes, iPod, cellphone, thumb drive, or any other favorite mp3 player you may have!

It is also capable to receive phone calls and transfer them via blue-tooth to the cars speakers so that you stay hands-free. Amazingly, it also searches in your phone's contacts for the person you commanded with your voice, and calls that person.

When you receive a text-message it will alert you in the car's computer screen. You can voice command the computer to read you the text message and BLOW AND BEHOLD! it will read it to you out loud! It is smart enough to recognize abbreviations like 'LOL' and translate it to 'laugh out loud'. You can also reply or send to any person in your contacts a text message and it will recognize certain frases and convert them to abbreviations as well!

Currently it is available in 12 Ford models for 2008 and it is expected to be in most Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury by the following years.
